1. Echo

Echo

Echo, rum ta tum ti ya
Echo, rum ta tum ti ya
Echo, ba da da…
Echo, hello, hello!

Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there
It’s in the mountains, in the trees, it’s in the air

Echo, rum ta tum ti ya
Echo, rum ta tum ti ya
Echo, ba da da…
Echo, hello, hello!

Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there
It’s in your smile, your laugh, it’s everywhere

Echo, rum ta tum ti ya
Echo, rum ta tum ti ya
Rum ta tum ti ya
Rum ta tum ti ya
Rum ta tum ti ya
Rum ta tum
Ti ya

4. I Am the Song

I Am the Song

I’m the air that you breathe, the kiss you blow
I’m the sound of raindrops, the crisp of the snow
I’m the thought you receive, the Moon in the night
I’m the laughter of children, a wren taking flight

For I am the song
Born of this earth, I ride with the wind
I am the song
I’m the voice of time I speak from within

I am with you each day, I play with your young
I dream your dreams, I sing out the unsung
I lift your troubles, I’ll ease your grief
I shout your joys, help your babies to sleep

For I am the song
Born of this earth, I ride with the wind
I am the song
The voice of time I speak from within

I salute your soldiers, I chant your protests
I sing of your passions and hold your regrets
I’ll help you remember, I’ll stay when you cry
I’ll teach your children, and I’ll never die

I am the song
Born of this earth, I ride with the wind
I am the song
The voice of time I speak from within

I’ll teach your children- and I’ll never die

5. Why Kids Are Not In Charge

Why Kids Are Not In Charge

Did you ever notice when it comes to trouble
The one who gets caught is you?
Your sisters, your brothers, your cousins too, they get off
No matter what they do?

Your parents, teachers, babysitters
They never get the facts straight
Then out comes the scolding, the lectures, the molding
As they seal your fate

But it’s not fair, they didn’t see it
It’s not fair they were not there
It’s not fair, I saw it all
Therefore I should make the call

Hey Mom, Hey Dad
It’s Billy, he was so bad
Hey Mom, Hey Dad
I’ll handle it, you’ll be glad

The crime
Billy ate all the snack packs that were saved for tomorrow’s lunches…

The punishment
Grounded for life…

It’s fair, I saw it all
It’s fair, I was there
It’s fair, I saw it all
Therefore I should make the call

Hey Mom, Hey Dad
Those girls, they were so bad
Hey Mom, Hey Dad
I’ll handle it, you’ll be glad

The crime
Sally called Becky stupid and then Becky pulled her hair....

The punishment
Shave their heads…

It’s fair, I saw it all
It’s fair, I was there
It’s fair, I saw it all
Therefore I should make the call

Hey Mom, Hey Dad
It’s Davey, he was so bad
Hey Mom, Hey Dad
I’ll handle it, you’ll be glad

The crime
What? I did not! Davey said I hid the remote…

The punishment…
No punishment for an accident!

It’s fair, I saw it all
It’s fair, I was there
It’s fair, I saw it all
Therefore I should make the call

7. Dare

Dare

Dare to make a friend with someone new
Take a dare and try and understand a person not like you
Dare to listen, to hear another’s path you fear
Dare to consider a different point of view

Dare to see the pain in someone’s eyes
Take a dare to stay by tears until they dry
Dare to reach out your hand, help another to stand
Dare to act, dare to try

Dare to say you’re sorry when you’re wrong
Take a dare to make amends for hurts long gone
Dare to trust in your knowing, believe in growing
Dare to be open with each day that dawns

Dare to welcome goodness as your guide
Take a dare to feel lucky, to feel happy inside
Dare to boom out a song, run and dance, laugh strong
Dare to be fully alive
Dare to be fully alive

9. Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis

I’m thinking about writing a song about photosynthesis
But nothing rhymes with photosynthesis

I’d write how

Plants absorb sunlight that shines from the sky
They use air we breathe out, called carbon dioxide
With the water they draw from their roots down deep
They make sugar for food, and the air that we breathe

I’m thinking about writing a song about photosynthesis
But, alas, nothing rhymes with photosynthesis

10. We Are Light

We Are Light

Spring planting and taming give way to summer’s heat
The green Earth reaches for the sun so high
With Autumn comes the harvest, the fruits, the oil, the wheat
Sweet Summer’s sunlight captured from the sky

But then the cold winds blow as darkness wraps around us
Orion the Hunter prowls the night
The cold winds blow we wrap our hats and scarves around us
We walk through the night to come together in the light

For it’s the light that shines
From the fireside, the candles, from your eyes
We bring the light throughout the year through the darkness to share
We are light, together we are light

You bring the candles made from the wax of a honeybee
The maple sugar candies from the sugar of a tree
I’ll bring the blueberry pie picked at the season’s high
And we’ll all bring a song to sing deep into the night

For it’s the light that shines
From the fireside, the candles, from your eyes
We bring the light throughout the year through the darkness to share
We are light, together we are light

You bring the latkes from the potatoes in the bin
The cornbread a recipe passed down from Bibi Lin
I’ll bring the wassail, the apples pressed back in July
We’ll all bring a story for round the fireside

For it’s the light that shines
From the fireside, the candles, from your eyes
We bring the light throughout the year through the darkness to share
We are light, together we are light

We’ll share traditions from our families long gone
We’ll learn the old ways, and we’ll learn to carry on
We’ll light the candles from a father to his child
Our memories passed on will never die

For it’s the light that shines
From the fireside, the candles, from your eyes
We bring the light throughout the year through the darkness to share
We are light, together we are light
We are light, together we are light

11. Simple Daniel

Simple Daniel

Simple Daniel what do you see
In that mirror you hold
Is that you, is that me?
Simple Daniel, in time you’ll see
It’s you, and it’s me

Simple Daniel what do you see
In that mirror you hold
Is that you, is that me?
Simple Daniel, in time you’ll see
We spring from the very same tree

Simple Daniel what do you see
In that mirror you hold
Is that you, is that me?
Simple Daniel, in time you’ll see
Your son, say hello for me

13. Seed

Seed

Plant a seed today
Don’t wait until tomorrow
From the earth, quench your thirst
Reach for the sky

Plant a seed today
Take it higher and higher
From one seed, everyday
What will you sow?

Sunshine and rain showers
Falling down
Roots running deep
Deep into the ground
